Puppy Playgroup

Once a week our clinic nurses run a puppy socialisation session at each surgery. Every puppy under 14 weeks of age that has had their first vaccination is invited and encouraged to come in and join the fun.

At puppy playgroup the emphasis is on socialisation with other puppies and learning that a trip to the vets is not always something a nasty experience. The vets can be a fun experience too! We have run these sessions for about twenty years now and you can always tell the dogs in the waiting room that have attended.

As well as socialising your puppy and having the chance to chat with other puppy owners, the clinic nurses are on hand to discuss and advise on puppy related subjects. For example;

  • House training and other behavioural issues
  • Parasite control
  • Neutering advice
  • Dental care
  • Micro-chipping
  • Nutritional advice

Puppy playgroup is held on a Tuesday evening between 7.00 – 8.00 at our Lostwithiel surgery and on Wednesday evenings between 7.00 – 8.00  at our St Austell Surgery.

Each puppy is invited to attend for three sessions with each session costing £3.50. Members of our PET HEALTH CLUB  attend Puppy Playgroup for free as part of their membership.

Invitations are sent out to each puppy after their first vaccine – but why wait for your invitation! Book your place at the time of vaccination and come along to the next available session.
